Yes, that’s right. Our spring 2021 litter will be a unique breeding combining strong performance lines from two wonderful, working/performance boys!
Cruz, Lorfield’s I Get Around MH40 MNH4 CCA WCX HTHF, brings his strong field background to this breeding. His father adds diversity to the pedigree, while his dam, with the lines her father has in common with Babe, reinforces the qualities built through years of careful selection. At 24 inches in height and 70 pounds of muscle, Cruz also brings size, bone structure and working structure that will complement Babe nicely. This breeding was done via frozen semen.
We also bred to Rio, ADCH Pine Run Running In Overdrive MX MXJ MJB OF CAX BCAT DS MAD. We were extremely happy with the results of his previous breeding to Babe in 2019. All the puppies from that litter have excelled in their owners’ chosen game, showing success in Tracking, Search & Rescue, Obedience, and Agility, as well as hunting companions. Rio strongly reinforces the lines behind Babe, maintaining the qualities we love in our Golden Retrievers. Rio also adds size—at 23 inches and 69 pounds of muscle, bone, and his powerful build to the breeding.
We expect these puppies to be moderate in size and range from light to dark gold in color. They should be smart, bold, and energetic puppies. When working, they will be confident, eager, and focused with lots of drive.
These puppies will do well in almost any game their owners want to play. Their hallmark will be high intelligence and a positive working attitude. The pedigree(s) have a store of successful field genes for natural birdiness, marking ability, and water worthiness. They should have the drive, intelligence, and biddability needed for advanced concepts in the field, agility, and obedience. Overall there should be great resiliency and attitude in their work. For the experienced pet owner who establishes a structured environment at home, they will be active, loving companions to hike, run, jog… and cuddle with, but don’t expect couch potatoes until the pups mature.
Please NOTE it is possible that one or both sires could produce puppies with this breeding, thus we can not guarantee a specific sire. We will be performing DNA testing to determine parentage at the proper time so that all the puppies from the litter will be eligible for registration.
Currently, we are looking for both performance and experienced pet homes for these puppies. Preference given to performance/working homes.

Cruz is a bold, outgoing, intelligent, structurally correct dog with a great work ethic and a high desire to please. His drive and desire in the field combined with his obedient attitude has earned him over 40 master passes, four passes at the Master National, and a pass at the Master Amateur Invitational.
Cruz has always lived in the house with multiple intact males and females and has never had a problem with any of them. His temperament is exceptional, getting along with other dogs and children, and always avoiding any conflict. He has all his health clearances and a wonderful pedigree with multiple field and obedience titles. This breeding between him and Babe has a low COI.
At nearly 11 years old, Cruz is still actively competing in hunt tests and training for the 2021 Master National and an attempt at a fifth plate. Cruz has produced several litters and has offspring competing in field, obedience, and agility.

Rio and his owner/handler, Deb Barlics compete mostly in agility. He is in the Master level in AKC and USDAA. He is high drive and fast (#4 Golden Retriever in the Power Breed for 2018). In addition to agility, he also competes in dock diving, coursing, and FAST CAT. He is very easy to train and is willing to try anything. Rio is a smart, loving boy. His owner says she always enjoys training with him and says that running him in agility is a blast! He is very intense but has had good focus from the beginning.
Rio has produced several litters and his offspring are competing in Agility, Tracking, Obedience, Dock Diving, Lure Coursing, and Field. A couple are also wonderful hunting companions and training as Search & Rescue dogs.

Babe is sweet, friendly with people, and gets along with other dogs. Babe has a lot of energy, perfect for a working/performance dog.
Babe loves to work with me whether it be training for field or agility. She has great focus even while in drive and is exceptionally smart. She is a good marker, with a good memory in the field and plenty of drive for the game. She earned her JH, as well as her WC, in 2017 at the age of two. She is owner-handler/trained. We are currently training for Senior Hunter, taking our time working through the required skills.
