“Rio is now at the Master level in both AKC and USDAA agility. In USDAA, he is just two Standard legs away from the highest award of “Agility Dog Champion” (ADCH).

“He is high drive and very fast … with limited trialing he is #4 Golden in the 24″ Power Breed Top 10 for 2018. (Yes, one of his cousin, Punk, MACH Snapshotz Kiowa Just A Minor Threat MXB MJS is #1). When not doing agility, he also loves dock diving and FASTCAT lure coursing. AKC ranked him in the Top 20 fastest Goldens in 2018. (This boy would get a speeding ticket in a “school zone” at his clocked speed 26.31 mph!)

“Rio is easy to train and willing to try anything. Rio has been intense and focused even as a “baby”. He’s a smart, loving boy who loves to train and running him in agility is a blast!

“Rio is a good retriever, too. He took quickly to water as a puppy, and picked up the first duck he was offered. If there was more time for me as, basically, an average pet owner, Rio would probably like seeing more birds in his life. Not to mention that he likes running fast to those few birds he’s had; and returns at full speed and joy with his prize.”Rio lives with two other intact males (his 1/2-brother, Maverick and his son, Ryder). Rio takes the “top dog” honors of the three of them.

“At home he likes to be close to me, and loves attention. When the four grandchildren come by to create some chaos, Rio loves them all and doesn’t blink an eye to the commotion of having kids running all around. He seems to know when to flip his off-switch around the house and traveling.
