Babe is OFA Good hips, normal elbows, eyes, and heart, plus she is clear via parentage for prcd-PRA, PRA1 & 2, Ichthyosis, and NCL5.
Babe stands 21 7/8 inches tall and is 54 pounds of lean muscle. She has nice balanced angulation in both front and rear, with a good length of neck. She has a good depth of chest and forechest, showing the very good front-end structure needed for a hard-working dog.
She is sweet, friendly with people, and gets along with other dogs. She loves to work with me. Babe has great focus and is very smart. She challenges me to keep up with how quickly she learns! Her energy might be a challenge to some pet owners, but it’s a treasure for those looking for a working, performance dog.
We are currently training for agility and fieldwork. In the little formal obedience training we have done, babe has a natural heads-up heeling style with a very nice drive from her rear. When she’s working, Babe is working, but when she’s not, she’s a couch potato and snuggler.
Babe shows good marking ability and memory in her fieldwork, and plenty of drive for this game. She earned her JH and WC in 2017. She got the chance to show her courage in the water and determination with several crippled birds and some daunting conditions that might have been the undoing of a less persistent young dog. She is owner-handler/trained. We are currently training for Senior Hunter, but we are taking our time working through the required skills.
Currently, she is competing in agility at the AKC Excellent level and the USDAA Master level. On the course, she is fast, responsive, and has lots of drive for the game. I’m impressed with how responsive she is even at top speed and with her intense focus. She is a girl who wants to be a team player. She always puts out great effort to do the right thing, even when her enthusiasm can sometimes get the best of her. She is a natural jumper with a long-reaching, ground-covering stride, but she also has the ability to make excellent tight turns when needed.
