Wonderful weekend at HVGRC ALL Golden Agility Trial

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

It was a beautiful weekend in the Hudson Valley at HVGRC all Golden Retriever Agility Trial not only was the weather great for the first weekend in November with temps in the upper 50s but it was great to hang out with the “family.”  Snapshot was the biggest star of the weekend earning 5 out of 6 possible Qs even with debuting in Open — earning two legs in Standard with two first places and a leg in Jumpers with a first place.  On Saturday Snapshot finished off her Novice FAST title with a second place and then moved up to Open FAST earning her first leg with a first place.  Not to be out done by his “little” niece Nikon earned his 12th QQ towards MACH 3 with two first places on Sunday, then earned a first place in EX B FAST adding to the Ex B Jumpers Q and first place he earned on Saturday.  Flyte held her own earning a third in Nov B Standard in Saturday, then two first in Nov B Standard and Jumpers on Sunday.

Puppies Arrive April 23, 2008

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

Flyte’s 2008 pups arrived early on April 23, 2008 starting with Larry (The Cable Guy) arrived at 12:20 AM, April 23, at a hefty 19 ounces! and a dark red color. Then came Boomer (the mouthy one) followed at 12:29 AM at 15 ounces, a medium color boy, “Trey” (boy #3) arrived at 1:16 at 14 ounces. FINALLY, at 1:56 Lulu the first girl of medium color plopped out. (14 oz.) followed by at 2:03 AM by the second girl “Deuce” arrived. Last, but not least, Wally (the walrus) arrived at 3:37 AM at a brawny 17 oz. & medium color.

It looks like we’re done and pups are nursing happily. Unlike some newborns who take a while to figure out how to latch onto mom, these kids went right to it and hang on like barnacles on the hull of ship!

I guess Flyte likes the #6. But this time the exact opposite breakdown in sexes of her first litter. None of the pups appear as light as the light pups in the first litter. And Larry is the darkest pup I’ve had in a long while.

Well, okay, there’s not much to see when they’re only 24 hours old (See photo) They’re not retrieving bumpers or going through tunnels yet.

Flyte is being a very good mom, as expected from previous performance. They’re generally very quiet contented pups unless somebody gets away from the crowd & is having a hard time finding his way back.

Those lighter pups aren’t really very light … but compared to those two very dark boys they look light I might expect that when all is said and done we’ll have a bunch of “red dawgs”.

Puppies Expected Spring 2008

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

We’re expecting!! Flyte was recently bred to Bear (Kiowa’s Honey Bear). This litter should have a natural aptitude for the field, intelligent, sweet and good looking. This performance litter should have lots of energy for what ever game they play — hunt, field, obedience or agility. Puppies due April/May 2008.

Flyte Earns NA & NAJ Titles

Friday, December 7th, 2007

Flyte (daughter of MACH Pine Run’s Kiowa Wild Rose “Rosie”) earned her NA and NAJ titles on the first day of the trial but to keep up her confidence I kept her novice to finish the year. She continued to run very well earning Q’s in every class she ran for a total of 8 Q’s, and 3 second placements and 5 first placements. Flyte has come such a long way since she started in September when she had to say hello to the ringcrew or the judge, but now she does not seem to notice them including the large crowds at the Boston trial.

Flyte’s Expecting Puppies

Saturday, October 14th, 2006

Pine Run’s Wingin’ It aka Flyte is expecting her first litter. This MACH Pine Run’s Kiowa Wild Rose “Rosie” daughter was bred to Kiowa’s KC Double Back Echo MH** this fall. Echo’s daddy was FC AFC Tigathoe’s Kiowa II OS FDHF. So, along with those rip roarin’ agility genes, these pups will have a flair for the field, too!
