New WC — Snapshot

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

October 10, 2009 — Snapshot’s on a roll after doing so well at the Obedience trial the night before (Oct 9, 2009), she got all four birds on Southern Berkshire Golden Retriever Club’s WC test today at Nod Brook under Judges Arline Buchannan and Judith Erlanger. She pretty lined each of the birds. I was not sure if she saw the memory bird on the land double but she then stepped on it — Oops there it is!! Then on both water marks she did one of her spectacular leaps going out and went straight to the bird. What a good girl!

Today he Q’d in Standard & Gamblers both 1st places. The Gamblers leg earned him his MAD which was awesome. His Standard run was the nicest run we have ever had to date. He smoked the course. He was fabulous. All weekend his poles were amazing. He was driving and focused.

October 2-4, 2009
We ran in a three-day trial but this time it was just Nikon and Snapshot running. Friday Snapshot has a very nice Jumpers run, which was nice enough to take first place — she was entered in the 26″ class. She had a nice standard run going but ducked into the wrong end of a tunnel after the Dog walk. Nikon came home with yet another QQ with placements (1st and second).

Saturday saw us running in the rain. Nikon had a lovely jumpers run with a first place. Snapshot brought home the double Q with placements this time (1st and second — this is her second double placement).

Sunday started out overcast but eventually the sun did show itself. Snapshot had a splendid Standard run — we got lots of compliments on how nice it was but she missed the up contact on her Teeter, which was her only fault!! I am a bit disappointed but it tells she was MOVING in order to leap half way up the teeter! She did Q in jumpers with a second place. Nikon brought home another double Q with placements (second and third).

So right now Snapshot is sitting at 4 QQs while Nikon is at 6 QQs. They’re in a neck and neck race to see who gets to 20 first but they seems to be alternating days right now. We still have a long way to go through probably early next year.

AKC Agility Results 9/19-20/2009

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

Grace and Zer had a great weekend with 4 out of 5 Q’s. On Saturday Zer Q’d in his Nov Fast class, Q’d in Ex A Standard and Open Jumpers — all with placements. Then Sunday he finished his Open JWW title with a first place. Now he can move up and play with the big boys in jumpers.

Snapshot had a good weekend earning 4 out of 5 possible Q’s even running in the 26″ classes . Saturday saw us earn our first Ex A FAST leg with a first place on course with a very hard “Bonus.” This was pretty cool since it was her first time in Ex A FAST. Then she went on to Q in Ex B Standard with a first place, but in jumpers we had a couple bobbles. Sunday, saw our third Double Q but our first double placement (two second places) towards her ADHF title. She now got 7 MX legs, 4 MX legs, 3 double Qs and 199 points.

I made a joke that Nikon was a bugger this weekend because he wanted to let Snapshot catch up with him so they can run neck and neck towards their MACHs since he has 3 double Qs too. Oh Fun.

On Friday Snapshot and I continued on our roll earning legs in Master Standard (her fourth, 3rd place), a Master Jumper (2nd leg, 2nd place), Master Snooker (1st leg, 3rd place), and Master Pairs (1st leg, fourth place). Unfortunately we seemed to go down hill from there on Saturday we earned only a Master Snooker Q with a 2nd place — we had a few bobbles in Gamblers, Standard and Jumpers. On Sunday we did not Q in any of our classes, again tiny little bobbles. She was tired by Sunday and moving much slower.

Nikon seemed to have a blast in the couple of classes he was entered in, on Friday he missed his Aframe contact in Master Snooker so no Q there, but on Saturday he had a blistering Master Snooker course taking first place and then then went on to place first in Master Gamblers too. Sunday saw another Q in Master Gamblers this time with a second place. Its funny but I think since he finished his ADCh he has only not Q’d in Gamblers once.

Zer had a good weekend too but he Q’d in all his classes — Master Standard, Master Jumpers and Master Snooker ( 3rd place). Sunday he Q’d in Standard.

If you did not notice but yes — it was a family sweep in Master Snooker on Saturday – Nikon first place, Snapshot second place and Zer third place all with Super Qs too boot. Both Snapshot and Zer came very close to finishing their MADs except each had a tiny booble in the master gamblers. Next time.
